May 2007:
Turin, Piedmont, Italy

A weekend in Cawthorne and a chance to catch up with family.
Steven and (a pregnant) Kate visit us in Turin. A day trip to Susa.
An amusing 4 person bicycle in the Valentino Park.
April bank holiday in Italy and we took our tent to Asti for a long weekend. We camped (on our own) at an Agriturismo...
...and ate and drank the local produce.
Helen and John visited and were lucky to have one of the clearest days of the year - amazing views of the Alps.
Another beautiful weekend and more visitors. Abi and Dave, and a trip into the Langhe wine growing region with our friend Alessandro.
Carolyn and Ian took a week's holiday in northern Italy, including time in Turin. We all travelled together to Lago Maggiore. Unfortunately the weather broke, but we still enjoyed ourselves.
Our hotel was lakeside...
...and had great views of the thunderstorms!
Isola Bella is famous for its white peacocks.
More visitors, and back in the Langhe with Alessandro. Nick enjoyed his "Mangialonga"...
...a walk through the vineyards at sunset, with a wineglass round your neck and regular stations at which to sample any (and many) of the wines on offer.
It was one of the most beautiful evenings of the year.
Andrea and Rita visited while Rachel was away working with an ACIS tour group.
A visit to the old Fiat factory at Lingotto, and tomfoolery on the roof-top racetrack.
Their visit fell on the festival of San Giovanni, the patron saint of Turin; when a bonfire is light in the main Piazza...
...and fireworks let off by the river.
