| In May Al's parents came for a long weekend in Turin. | |
| We visited on of the many Savoy residences near Turin - the castle of Aglie. The roses were in bloom... | |
| ...and it was a lovely day for relaxing. | |
| The following day we dedicated our attention to the The Langhe wine growing region, and in particular the town of La Morra. | |
| With Alessandro at the top of the bell tower. | |
| Then down to the serious business of trying some wine. | |
| We visited the cellars of the Mascarello family... | |
| ...and were taught the important points about their wine. No 1, its very good... | |
| Followed by a stroll down the hill to a blow-out lunch at Ristorante Bovio, one of the best around. | |
| We finished the meal (3 and a half hours later), basking in the sunshine with a glass of Barolo Chinato - a spiced red wine. | |
| Alessandro... | |
| ...and his parents showed us a great time. | |
| In order to further aid digestion, we went for a wander amongst the vines... | |
| ...to a local landmark - a cedar of lebanon atop a hill. | |
| A great spot for a post-prandial kip! | |
