Return to 2008 menu | |
| In 2008 Liverpool is the European Capital of Culture, so we a made a point of taking our Italian cultural expert, Alessandro, on his first visit to the city. We had a weekend to fit in as much Englishness as possible. We started with Little Moreton Hall. | |
| Biddulph Gardens | |
| A cream tea - doesn't come much more English. | |
| A sunset at New Brighton can match any in the world. | |
| The highlight of the trip (and real purpose for it) was the Liverpool Sound concert at Anfield stadium for which we had highly sought-after tickets. | |
| It featured the Zutons and the Kaiser Chiefs, who were OK, but paled in comparison to... | |
| ...Paul McCartney. | |
"The Long and Winding Road" | |
"Let it Be" | |
"Live and Let Die" | |
| The concert finished with fireworks. (See all the video clips in the video section.) | |
| Our final day was spent admiring Liverpool city centre and we had lunch at the Metropolitan Cathedral, with Naomi and Matthew. |
