July 2008:
July in Italy

The "Mangialonga" of Serralunga d'Alba - our second year in Italy and a second visit to the gastronomic walk through the vineyards of The Langhe.
At each of 5 stopping points along the walk, one eats another course of the meal and samples the local wines.
Your wine glass is the most important thing and is safely hung round your neck!
A season of street theatre in Turin, included a contemporary Spanish fire play in the main square. Actors performed a wordless show involving fire-breathing, fire-juggling and step ladders, to a background of live music.
The joys of living in Italy... a day trip to the coast in Liguria and some time on the beach.
Lunch by the beach.
An afternoon nap under an olive tree.
A picnic in a National Park near Turin before a Pino Daniele concert (a highly acclaimed Neapolitan singer)
Hannah's "hen do" hits Turin...
...with tiaras and cut-outs of Paul!
The street theatre season continued with a whole evening of entertainment in the gardens of Venaria Reale, a local stately home.
A duet ballet between a man and... a bulldozer.
A russian high-wire clown.
The climax of the evening was a pyrotechnic concert produced by the UK's "The World Famous" - flames, fireworks, explosions accompanied a live concert from the folk-rock band "Terrafolk"...
...who performed from 4 bubbles suspended in the air, and surrounded by fireworks.
Highly original and spectacular... look out for it near you!
