24th November 2008:
Torino Film Festival

The annual Torino Film Festival is always a good occasion and this year they featured a British Renaissance section, screening several British films from the 1980s. It was most unusual to see the era portrayed on the big screen, let alone with an Italian audience.
The highlight was seeing Michael Palin introduce "The Meaning of Life" and "A Private Function". Being a big fan, Rachel was unlikely to miss it, and went as far as asking him about his feelings on Yorkshire. Needless to say they were fond and he quipped that there might not be a financial crisis now had a Yorkshireman been left in charge of the economy. He really is a very nice man!
