| Rachael, Clare and John visited in October and we took a trip to the palace of Venaria Reale.

| In the evening, a selection of local specialities in Piazza Vittorio - pork ribs cooking around the edge of a huge wood stove.

| The following day we travelled to the Langhe.
|
| It was an exceptionally clear day - the best we have seen on our (many) visits to the Langhe, and the views of the Alps in the distance beyond the rolling hills of vineyards were spectacular.

| The target for the day was the town of Diano d'Alba, for an event called "Di Sori in Sori"; local dialect for from vineyard to vineyard.
|
| Objective, to walk amongst the vines of the area, eating the courses of your lunch at various farmhouses along the way.
|
| The autumn colours were spreading across the recently harvested vines, to give a tapestry of reds and greens.
|
|
|
| Did I mention that there was wine involved? Each of the 6 stages is an opportunity to try a different one.
