24-25 September 2006:
Jaguar NSPCC Charity Drive

The premise is this... Jaguar organises a charity event whereby other companies sponsor a car and donate money to the charity of Jaguar's choice (in this case NSPCC). The companies then get to write their name on the side of a Jaguar and drive it around the UK for a weekend. Bosch, being a supplier to Jaguar, jumps at the chance a) because they want to impress their customer b) it makes a nice change to be giving money away to charity rather than their customer c) I encouraged them to let me drive around in a nice car.
Stefan and I drove about 700 miles in 2 days in the brand new Jaguar XK, going from Jaguar's Brown's Lane site to North Wales where we took part in the Land Rover off-road Experience, then up to Chester for the night. Across to Chatsworth the next day for a photo shoot and back down to Coventry.
Never one to miss out on things, Rachel hitched a lift on the second day and we squeezed her into the back seat. It wasn't really hot enough to have the top down, but we'd only got 2 days with the car so put the heated seats on and kept it down anyway.
